Music Ministry

Joyful Noise Choir

The music ministry at Forest Hill Christian Church embodies Psalm 100:1 “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.” Our music is to the Glory of God. Members of our music ministry come from very diverse backgrounds and ranges of skill. The main purpose of our music ministry is to glorify God and to bring others to praise God through the power of song. As a member, you will enjoy praising God through hymns, anthems, spirituals, praise and worship, and traditional and contemporary gospel music. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Throughout the year, members have the opportunity to attend special workshops, retreats, and other experiences that can enhance their love and appreciation of praising God through song.

_______as Spiritual Practice

Every first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. we gather around our table of many colors in the kitchen to share a simple meal and then we practice a spiritual discipline together – silence, art, singing, centering prayer, body prayer, dancing, intentional eating, chant, walking prayer.  Join us as we practice together opening our hearts, minds and bodies more fully to God’s Presence.

Women’s Spirituality Group

A group of women together seeking to discover, define, and delight in their ongoing search through study and sharing life experiences to understand the presence of God in their everyday life. We are currently reading and discussing Fresh Bread and Other Gifts of Spiritual Nourishment by Joyce Rupp.

Book Group

Love to read, reflect and discuss books dealing with your Christian faith and spiritual journey, without a long-term commitment to a group? Our book group is just the thing for you. We generally meet for six-week sessions, sharing discussion over a simple meal. We are currently finishing our study of Rob Bell’s “Love Wins:  A Book about Heaven, Hell and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived.”

Out to Lunch Bunch

We share a meal and wonderful fellowship at different restaurants in our diverse and eclectic city following worship the third Sunday of every month.

Love to explore the intersection of film and your spiritual life?  Then join us as we gather each month to watch a movie, share in conversation and of course, fellowship and munch popcorn!
